William Lamb, President and CEO of Lucara, expressed his excitement about the discovery, stating, “This find not only showcases the remarkable potential of our Karowe Mine but also reaffirms our strategic investment in cutting-edge technology. The ability to recover such a massive, high-quality stone intact demonstrates the effectiveness of our approach to diamond recovery.”
The discovery further solidifies Botswana’s reputation as a global leader in diamond production, contributing significantly to the country’s socio-economic development. This latest find highlights the continued success of Lucara’s operations and underground development strategy at Karowe.
